Arkansas Genealogical Society plans 50th anniversary

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas Genealogical Society is planning two days of events to mark its 50th anniversary.

The organization is hosting its annual seminar and book fair on Oct. 26 and 27 at the Wyndham Hotel in North Little Rock.

Friday’s featured speaker will discuss how computer-assisted research has changed genealogical research, which the group says will be geared toward both novices and experienced researchers.

Other topics include finding ancestors with links to the Civil War and using a new mapping service.

The cost for the seminar is $50.
