Annual genealogy fair set Saturday

MISHAWAKA -Michiana Genealogy Fair 2012 will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the downtown Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library,209 Lincoln Way East.

Sponsored by the South Bend Area Genealogical Society, it is the largest family history event in our area, according to a news release.

Featured speaker will be Mark Middleton, information systems specialist, who will speak at 10:30 a.m. on scanning photographs and the standards, best practices and equipment.

Middleton also will present “The Latest in Computer Technology for Your Genealogical Research” at 1:30 p.m.

Some 15 exhibitors also will be present with research materials, books and other items for genealogy research. Exhibit volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help in researching your family history.

Admission is $6 at the door or $5 with a coupon available at the family history departments at both main libraries.
